Program Description
This micro-credential program is designed for individuals who want to build a strong foundation in apparel construction and design while gaining key insights into the fashion industry, sustainability, and the fashion business. With an emphasis on hands-on garment creation, design techniques, and construction methods, students will gain the practical and creative skills needed to enter the fashion industry. The program prepares students for fashion designer, apparel technician, or fashion entrepreneur roles. The courses in the microcredential are:
FAS 101 Intro to Fashion Industry
FAS 110 Apparel Construction
ART 112 Fashion Drawing and Design
FAS 120 Apparel Design I
Program Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the microcredential, students will be able to demonstrate knowledge of the professional medical office administrative duties and responsibilities.
Employment Potential
An entry level employment opportunity in the administrative areas of medical offices, clinics, hospitals, home health, extended care facilities, and other healthcare settings.
Developmental Assistance Available
For students who do not meet basic reading and math requirements, or who have other learning issues, extra assistance is readily available through SUNY Ulster’s Center for Academic Planning and Support (CAPS), the Patrik Math -Center, the Literacy Lab, and peer and professional tutors.
