Program Description
Teaching assistant level II credit course offerings for completion of the required 9 college credit hours required by New York State for the application for Teaching Assistant level II. Applicants will be required to hold a New York State Teaching Assistant level I certificate.
PSY 101 Introduction to Psychology, 3 cr.
EDU 203 Social and Philosophical Foundations of Education, 3 cr.
HUS 103 Introduction to Human Services, 3 cr.
Program Learning Outcomes:
Students will:
• Communicate effectively both in oral and written formats.
• Articulate a beginning philosophy of education, and demonstrate an awareness of the role of diversity in education.
• Exhibit a beginning understanding of child development
• Demonstrate foundational knowledge of and an appreciation for the cultural, social, and natural worlds
