PSY 220 - Personality Theory 3 cr. This course focuses on the study of significant theories of personality as proposed by psychologists in the major schools of thought. These include Freudian, Neo-Freudian, Jungian, behavioral, cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, trait, and constructivist theories. Students gain an understanding of the assumptions underlying each theory and apply these concepts to themselves and others. Personality assessment instruments, including the Rorschach Inkblot test, are examined using measures of validity, reliability and normative data. Prerequisite: ENG 101 and PSY 101 .
