ISP 070 - Reading Workshop 4 cr.

Students practice the fundamental aspects of college‐level reading skills. These include understanding, identifying, and restating main ideas, sequence patterns, cause‐and‐effect relationships, and fact or opinion statements. This course emphasizes dictionary skills and vocabulary development as well as basic outlining and summary‐writing techniques. ISP 070 requires a combination of lecture and laboratory instruction for a total of four hours per week. Laboratory work will involve supervised instruction based on diagnostic pretesting.
