CHE 104 - General Chemistry II 4 cr. The major part of this course presents a study of the nature of chemical interactions: intermolecular forces, condensed states of matter, phase changes, solution chemistry, chemical kinetics, chemical equilibria, acid‐base theory, chemical thermodynamics, oxidation‐reduction reactions, and electrochemistry. Other possible topics may include nuclear chemistry, transition metal chemistry, and introductory organic chemistry. The laboratory emphasizes methods of quantitative analysis. This course requires use of a scientific calculator and purchase of safety goggles for lab use. 3 hrs. lect; 3 hrs. lab; 1 hr. recitation. Lab fee. Prerequisite: CHE 103 and MAT 160 both with a grade of C or better. Fall, Spring, Summer
