EDU 203 - Social and Philosophical Foundations of Education 3 cr.

The purpose of this course is to introduce students to myriad controversies existing in the field of education. This course will provide students with a greater understanding of the social and philosophical issues involved in education, the development of individual and group identity involving race, class and gender, and an understanding of the historical development of the public education system in the United States.
