CHE 204 - Organic Chemistry II Lab 1 cr. The nomenclature, properties, preparation, and reaction mechanisms of all the major functional group families of organic compounds, both aliphatic and aromatic, and the synthetic strategies for the formation and transformation of functional groups are demonstrated in the laboratory course. In the laboratory, students learn the synthesis of organic compounds using synthetic strategies that integrate instrumental techniques such as GC, NMR, and IR for verification of synthesis products. This course is intended to be taken with CHE 202 - Organic Chemistry II 3 cr. . 4 hours lab. Lab fee. Prerequisite: CHE 201 . spring 2015, spring 2016
